      SUBJECT: Overview of the State of the Law as it relates to Email and Spam, and Current and Future Trends in the Law

      Lawrence Lessig is a Professor of Law at Stanford Law School and founder of the school's Center for Internet and Society. Prior to joining the Stanford faculty, he was the Berkman Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. Lessig was also a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, and a Professor at the University of Chicago Law School. Professor Lessig teaches and writes in the areas of constitutional law, contracts, comparative constitutional law, and the law of cyberspace.

      Guy Kawasaki is the CEO of Garage Technology Ventures, a venture capital investment bank for high technology companies, and a columnist for Forbes. Previously, he was an Apple Fellow at Apple Computer, Inc. A noted speaker and the founder of various personal computer companies, Mr. Kawasaki was one of the individuals responsible for the success of the Macintosh computer.       SUBJECT: The FTC, Spam, CAN-SPAM, and You

      Michael Goodman joined the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection as a staff attorney in January 2000. In his time at the FTC, Mr. Goodman has worked extensively on the Telemarketing Sales Rule, including the creation of the National Do Not Call Registry. He co-authored the FTC's study of the use of falsity in spam, and he is currently coordinating the FTC's rulemaking efforts under the CAN-Spam Act.
