Barracuda[Courtesy of John Brogan, Global Intellisystems] Barracuda is actually very easy to work with as long as you follow their procedures exactly as they request. You can tell if you have a Barracuda problem if the messages you send wind up with a [QUAR] flag on the subject line (in the recipients email box). You will need to either have a Barracuda anti-spam appliance or will need to know someone who does to take the next step. Go into the Barracuda message log and find the message that arrived with the [QUAR] flag. Open that message and look for the word "INTENT" followed by a domain name in the message header. The domain name that is listed is the one that Barracuda has an issue with. Once you know the domain that is causing the problem, visit this link: http://www.barracudacentral.com/index.cgi?p=lookups Check both the IP address and the domain name listed next to the INTENT flag in the fields provided. If you find that you are on the block list or blacklist, contact Barracuda's support desk If you have a Barracuda appliance, go here to submit a support request to get the block cleared or find out what caused it (then fix it) http://www.barracudanetworks.com/ns/support/support_request.php If you do not have a Barracuda appliance then you will have to go through their support email system at support@barracuda.com or call them at (408) 342-5300. During the process of asking them for help, be nice, that's important with these companies because they are not required to remove you or help you. If you are nasty, the sky is the limit for what can happen to your domain or IP's so it's always wise to just be nice. If they state you are doing something wron gin your mailings, fix it, then follow the instructions they give you to get the block cleared. Barracuda is one of the friendliest anti-spam services out there and if you work with them, they will work with you. |
